About this community
The Insider ELT Exchange is a private, collaborative space for English educators keen to investigate how English works, question established ELT practices and rethink adult language learning.
Our discussions explore three interconnected themes:
1. Investigating English—Uncovering meanings, patterns and distinctions that conventional explanations frequently overlook or oversimplify.
2. Questioning ELT practices—Re-examining familiar explanations, 'teacher traps', classroom routines and methodology through critical inquiry and professional experience.
3. Developing learner autonomy—Exploring the Teach-to-Learn Method (TtLM) and ways to encourage learners to question, compare, explain and take greater responsibility for their learning.
There's no lecturing here. Members exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, share experiences and disagree constructively.
